Where Children Learn, Play and Grow Beyond the Classroom

We create meaningful experiences that support every child’s wellbeing, learning and independence through fun, engaging and child-centred activities.

Growing Happy Minds, Confident Hearts and Creative Spirits

Supporting children through play, connection and discovery with a caring OOSH program designed around their interests, abilities and individual needs.

Philosophy

We believe children thrive when they feel safe, supported, and connected. Our centre provides a warm and inclusive environment where every child is respected, encouraged, and given opportunities to learn through play. We recognise that play is essential for developing confidence, curiosity, creativity, and positive relationships.

Our dedicated educators bring a range of knowledge, experiences, and cultural perspectives to create meaningful learning opportunities. Through music, art, storytelling, and hands-on activities, we encourage children to express themselves, explore new ideas, and develop strong social and emotional skills. We respond to each child’s individual strengths, interests, and needs, providing consistent care and nurturing relationships that promote a sense of security and belonging.

We encourage children to become active participants in their own learning by making choices, solving problems, and developing independence through everyday experiences. We celebrate diversity and foster an inclusive environment where every child and family feels welcomed, respected, and valued. By building strong partnerships with families and the wider community, we work together to support children in becoming confident, resilient, respectful, and lifelong learners.

Why Choose Metella Road OOSH?

A Place Where Children Belong

At Metella Road OOSH, we believe children thrive when they feel safe, valued, and connected. We create a warm and welcoming environment where every child is known, respected, and supported to be themselves.

Play-Based Learning Every Day

Play is at the heart of everything we do. Our child-led program encourages children to explore their interests, build friendships, solve problems, and develop confidence through meaningful and engaging experiences.

Strong Family Partnerships

We value open communication and meaningful partnerships with families. By working together, we create consistent and supportive experiences that help children grow into confident, capable, and caring individuals.

Children's Voices Matter

We believe children are active participants in their own learning. Children are encouraged to share ideas, make choices, take on leadership opportunities, and contribute to decisions about the program and environment.

Inclusive and Individualised Care

We celebrate diversity and recognise that every child is unique. Our inclusive approach ensures all children can participate meaningfully, feel a sense of belonging, and receive the support they need to succeed.

Community Owned and Not-for-Profit

As a community-based, not-for-profit service, every dollar is reinvested back into the service to benefit children and families. This allows us to continually enhance our environments, resources, programs, and educator development, ensuring we provide the highest quality care and experiences for our community.

Experienced and Passionate Educators

Our dedicated team brings a diverse range of skills, experiences, and interests to the service. Through creativity, music, games, and everyday interactions, educators foster strong relationships and support each child’s social, emotional, and developmental growth

Safe and Nurturing Environment

Children’s safety and wellbeing are our highest priorities. We provide predictable routines, caring relationships, and engaging environments where children can learn, play, and thrive.

Metella Road OOSH

Our Commitment to Child Safety

At Metella Road OOSH, the safety, wellbeing, and protection of every child are our highest priorities. We are committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where children feel secure, respected, and valued while participating in our programs. We actively promote a child-safe culture that minimises the risk of abuse, harm, and neglect and supports every child’s right to learn and grow in a safe setting.

Our Service meets all legislative requirements and follows the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations and the NSW Reportable Conduct Scheme. These frameworks guide our practices, helping us prevent, identify, and respond appropriately to any concerns relating to child safety.

All educators and staff understand their responsibilities as mandatory reporters under the Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998 (NSW). Team members regularly participate in Child Protection and National Child Safety training to ensure their knowledge remains current and they can confidently recognise and respond to child protection concerns.

We maintain a thorough recruitment and screening process to ensure all employees, volunteers, and students demonstrate the skills, values, and commitment required to provide high-quality care. Every team member is required to hold a valid Working with Children Check before working with children.

Our Service has a zero-tolerance approach to any form of inappropriate behaviour towards children. Any concerns, disclosures, or allegations relating to child safety are taken seriously and addressed promptly by management. Families are encouraged to raise any concerns with our Centre Director.

To promote a healthy and safe environment, Metella Road OOSH is a tobacco, vape, alcohol, and drug-free service. Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited within the Service and surrounding areas for educators, staff, families, and visitors.

We also follow all legislative requirements regarding the use of photographs, videos, and digital technologies involving children. Images and recordings are managed in accordance with our Safe Use of Digital Technologies and Online Environments Policy and our Photographs, Social Media and Promotion Policy, ensuring children’s privacy and family consent are respected.

To maintain transparency and support informed decision-making for families, our Service publicly displays its National Quality Standard (NQS) rating, compliance history for the previous two years, and any regulatory actions or prosecution information (where applicable), in line with legislative requirements.
